This one is pretty weird.
When the old curriculum was still in place, my head of department called me and told me that this class, as I knew, was one of the most difficult, she believed the cause being teacher didn’t want to update the class syllabus( and with the new curriculum coming up there wasn’t a point of doing it then) and she wanted somebody young teaching the old things, taking a new approach to this particular class, thinking that might change the output.
I accepted the challenge and started teaching what I think for the students will be the 2nd most difficult class in their career.
I changed things from start, I was teaching taking an approach kind of like a product owner and PM. I will them the dates, let them decide when I will give them a little extra on old things they might forgotten or new things that could help them out and proceed to explain every single practice and theory. I started letting them know that an assembly was the final product and what is an assembly.
My approach worked, most of my students passed in my firsts semester teaching the class, but things went to the other side when that old curriculum started fading away.
